Gayakapriya is melakarta #13 of 72 - raga 1 of the Agni chakra. Its scale takes shuddha rishabha (R₁), antara gandhara (G₃), shuddha madhyama (M₁), shuddha dhaivata (D₁), and shuddha nishada (N₁), with Sa and Pa fixed as always. As a sampoorna parent scale it uses all seven swaras in strict order, both ways.
