Frequently Asked Questions
Can my child learn guitar from teachers in India while living in Canada?
Yes. Artium's live 1:1 classes make it possible for children in Canada to learn from experienced teachers in India. For families living away from India, it is also a way to stay connected to the music and traditions they grew up with.
Is online guitar suitable for children in Canada?
Yes. Classes are live and personalised rather than pre recorded. The academic team assesses the child's current level during the free trial and recommends a suitable starting point.
What will my child learn in guitar classes?
Progressive guitar learning covering guitar basics, tuning, notes, chords, rhythm, strumming, tablature, scales, repertoire, sight reading and more advanced techniques.
Can my child learn guitar if they are a complete beginner?
Absolutely. Children do not need prior formal training to start. The learning plan is adapted to their age, current ability and pace, so beginners can build their foundations step by step.
How will I know how my child is progressing?
Parents can stay connected to the learning journey through the structured curriculum, assignments, practice activities and teacher feedback. Artium also provides tools that help learners practise between classes and track their progress.
Who leads the Guitar course at Artium?
Raju Singh is the Faculty Head for Guitar. The course is designed and curated under this academic leadership, while classes are delivered by Artium's trained teachers.
Does my child need to own a guitar before starting online lessons?
Your child will need a suitable guitar to practise between classes. If you are buying one for a beginner, the teacher can help you understand what type and size would be appropriate.
Is guitar too difficult for a young beginner?
Not necessarily. The programme starts slowly with basics such as posture, tuning, notes, rhythm, simple chords and strumming, and builds as your child becomes more comfortable.
How much should my child practise guitar between classes?
Short, regular practice is usually enough to start with. The teacher can give your child a few focused exercises and songs so practice feels manageable and enjoyable.
