About Globally Recognised Music Programme
The Globally Recognised Music Programme (GRMP), launched in March 2025, is Artium’s structured curriculum for every course it teaches - a five-year learning path of 252 lessons per course, split into four progressive levels: Preparatory, Intermediate, Proficient, and Advanced.
The curriculum is aligned with Ofqual standards and benchmarked against Trinity College London, ABRSM, and RSL for Western courses, and Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and Kalakshetra for Indian classical. Students finish each level with an Artium Certification, and can choose a graded path that prepares them for external board exams or a non-graded path that follows the same curriculum without formal exams.

The grade ladder
Each rung, what it expects, and where it sits on the qualification framework.
Preparatory
Indicative: Initial – Grade 2Year 1Foundations - posture, tone, pitch, rhythm, basic notation, and first repertoire. Builds the habits every later level relies on.
Intermediate
Indicative: Grades 3 – 4Years 2 – 3Technique and reading grow together: scales and exercises, longer pieces, ear training, and first performances at Artium Showcase.
Proficient
Indicative: Grades 5 – 6Years 3 – 4Confident, expressive playing across genres - Pop, Classical, Jazz, and Folk - with improvisation and stylistic awareness.
Advanced
Indicative: Grades 7 – 8Years 4 – 5Recital-level repertoire, interpretation, and stage craft; graded-path students sit their top external grades here.

Level assessment
Every level ends with an Artium assessment; graded-path students also sit the matching external board exam.

Is the Artium Certification recognised outside Artium?
The curriculum is aligned with Ofqual standards and benchmarked against Trinity, ABRSM, and RSL. Students who want a board certificate take the graded path and sit those exams with Artium’s support.
Do I have to take exams?
No. The non-graded path follows the same curriculum and awards the same level certificates without external exams.
Which instruments does GRMP cover?
Every Artium course - Indian classical and film vocals, Western vocal, guitar, piano, keyboard, and tabla.
