Frequently Asked Questions
Can I learn guitar from teachers in India while living in UK?
Yes. Artium offers live 1:1 online classes, so you can learn from experienced teachers in India while living in UK. For many Indian diaspora learners, that also means learning music in a way that stays connected to their cultural roots.
Can I start learning guitar as an adult with no prior training?
Yes. Beginners are welcome. Your free trial gives the academic team a chance to understand your current ability and recommend the right starting level rather than putting every learner into the same programme.
What can I learn in guitar classes as an adult?
Progressive guitar learning covering guitar basics, tuning, notes, chords, rhythm, strumming, tablature, scales, repertoire, sight reading and more advanced techniques. The pace can be personalised around your goals and previous experience.
Can I learn guitar even if I have a busy work schedule in UK?
Yes. Artium's online format is designed to make regular music learning easier to fit around work and family commitments. You can discuss suitable timings during the trial and enrol in a learning schedule that works for you.
Can I learn songs I enjoy while learning guitar?
Yes, where the course and teacher support that repertoire. The aim is not only to cover technique and theory, but also to make learning musical and relevant to your goals. Learn guitar from scratch, pick it up again after a break, play songs they enjoy or develop stronger technique.
Who leads the Guitar course at Artium?
Raju Singh is the Faculty Head for Guitar. The course is designed and curated under this academic leadership, while classes are delivered by Artium's trained teachers.
Can I learn guitar from scratch as an adult?
Yes. You do not need any previous guitar experience. You can start with tuning, notes, chords and rhythm and gradually move towards more advanced playing.
Can I learn guitar if I only have a few hours a week?
Yes. Your teacher can plan practice around the time you actually have. Even shorter, consistent practice sessions can help you build chord changes, rhythm and technique.
Will I learn songs or guitar technique first?
You will work on both. Songs make the learning enjoyable, while the structured lessons help you build chords, rhythm, scales, technique and other skills that you can use across different songs.
